Jessica Percy Campbell is a PhD candidate at the University of Victoria working under the SSHRC-funded ‘Big Data Surveillance’ project with supervisor Dr. Colin Bennett. Currently, her research interests surround the future of surveillance capitalism and digital privacy. Jessica aims to work alongside privacy advocate groups to unveil the risky consequences embedded in Big Data related activities, such as the lifestyle segmentation practices of data brokerage and analytics firms.
